James D. Sparks

James Dawnell Sparks (J.D.) age 77 of Maryville passed away suddenly Wednesday, October 3, 2007 at home. He served in the U.S. Navy and was an Airplane Mechanic for 44 years at Cherokee Aviation. J.D. was a loving husband, son, and caretaker. He was preceded in death by: Parents, James & Martha Sparks; Brother-in-law, Donald Reaves; Father-in-law, Comer Simerly; Daughter-in-law, Sharon Dudenbostel. Survivors include: Wife, MaryAnn Sparks; Daughters, Penny and husband Larry Carpenter, Jeannie and husband Danny Millsaps; Son, Robert Dawnell Sparks; Grandchildren, Derek & Chance Carpenter, Wendy & husband Jamie King, Tony Snoderly; Great-Grandchildren, Kimber, Sher'i & Corey Wallace, Katelyn Snoderly all of Maryville; Sisters, Unav Reaves and longtime companion Tony Cable, Betty Farmer all of Maryville, Patricia & husband Donald Simerly of McMinnville, TN; Brother, Robert & wife Shelby Sparks of Maryville; Mother-in-law, Evelyn Simerly of Maryville; numerous nieces and nephews, special friend, Dot Wilder of Maryville. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2007 at Smith West Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment.
