James Amos "Hee Haw" Ross Jr.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024 James A. “Hee Haw” Ross Jr., age 78 of Friendsville, TN passed peacefully to his heavenly home.  He attended Everett High School.  He worked for many years as a welder and machinist for Alcoa Aluminum Company, from which he retired.  He was an avid musician and had many friends whom he enjoyed spending time making music with.  He and his wife of 60 years enjoyed camping, fishing, and making music with family and friends.  One of their favorite places to spend time was the Outer Banks of North Carolina.   He was preceded in death by his father and mother, James Amos Sr. and Mintie Reese Ross; sister, Virginia Ross Patty; and daughter-in-law, Jeanne Moser Ross.  He leaves behind his wife, Alice Prows Ross; three sons, James A. Ross III, Samuel P. (Robin) Ross, and Bryan N. (Tara) Ross; seven grandchildren, James A. (Angel) Ross IV, Kathryn E. Ross, Eden Ross, Zachary (Kelci) Ross, Nathan (Kaelyn) Ross, Nolan Ross, and Emma Ross; great-grandchildren, Kayleighann, Willow, and Elowen; brother, Bill (June) Ross; sister, Wanda (Kenny) Smith; several nieces and nephews also survive.  His wish was to be cremated.  A memorial service and celebration of his life with family and friends will be held at a later date.
