James "Larry" McFee

Alcoa

James “Larry” McFee, age 84, of Alcoa, peacefully passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Richardson McFee (August 14, 2024); parents, Ruby Payne and F.B. McFee, Jr.; brother, Kenny McFee; son-in-law Michael Page.

Larry is survived by his daughter, Debby McFee Page; son, Michael McFee (Jill); and three granddaughters, Mei McFee, Chloe Page and Caitlin Page. He was a loving father and grandfather who cherished his family.

A graduate of Alcoa High School and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, Larry earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering. He joined Dupont, working in Richmond, VA, Charleston, WV, and Aiken, SC at the Savannah River Plant.

Larry was a curious, lifelong learner with a passion for expanding his knowledge, through reading, traveling, exploring nature, and engaging with the world around him. He passed on his love of nature to his children and grandchildren. He was an avid UT fan, supporting the Volunteers with great enthusiasm.

The family extends its gratitude to the University of Tennessee Hospice Services, especially Stephen, Kasie, Donna, Erin, and Greg, for their compassionate care and support.

May he rest in peace.

The family will receive friends of Shirley and Larry at 9:30 AM, with a service at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at Smith's Trinity Chapel, 1404 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803.
