James L. Jenkins

February 22, 1927 — October 2, 2011

James “Bud�? Jenkins age 84 of Maryville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 2, 2011 at Asbury Acres Healthcare Center. He was a long-time member of Trinity Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II. Bud was retired from Tennessee Farmers Co-op with 25 years of service. He mastered an old style of chair weaving with his chairs scattered throughout Blount County. Bud was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be truly missed by those he leaves behind. Preceded in death by: Wife, Pauline Jenkins; Parents, Robert T & Mattie Jenkins. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Susan & Lynn Effler of Louisville, Becky & Mike Willis of Maryville, Lisa & Jerry Wilburn of Maryville, and Tina & Larry Alexander of Maryville; Step-Daughter, Karen & Wayne Smith of Chattanooga; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, many other family members also survive; Sisters, Margaret Cardin of Maryville, Mary Hood of Detroit, MI, and Barbara Laugherty of Cleveland, TN; Special friends, Charlie Cooper and Jerry Stinnett. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Asbury Place for their love and kindness shown during this time. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Sherwood Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Gerald Jones and Rev. Damon Gibson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to: Alzheimer’s Association, 2200 Sutherland Ave., Ste. H102, Knoxville, TN 37919 in Bud’s memory.
