James Lincoln Hunter, age 79, died August 20, 2012, at Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville, Tennessee following a brief illness. He was born February 12, 1933, to Florence Mauck Hunter and Robert Hunter in Chesterfield, Indiana, and attended Chesterfield Elementary School and graduated from Daleville High School. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955 and retired from the United States Postal Service. He lived most of his life in Anderson, Indiana, where he was a member of First Friends Church for 50 years and served as past president of the Anderson Sunday School League and Anderson Marching Indians Booster Club. He moved to Sevierville, Tennessee, in 2002 where he was a member of Wears Valley United Methodist Church and volunteered at the Sevier County Food Ministry. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Davita Dialysis, Maryville, Tennessee, for the loving care they provided over the past 3 years. Preceded in death by: Son, Peter A. Hunter, and sister, Martha Ausley. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Heiden Hunter (Sevierville, TN), daughter, Sarah A. Hunter (Sevierville, TN), daughter, Lori R. Phillips (Walland, TN), brothers, Robert (Betty) Hunter (Townsend, TN) and Jay Mier (Chesterfield, IN), sisters, Lavonna Baker (Anderson, IN), Margaret Stofflet (Anderson, IN), Marilyn Gallimore (Acworth, GA), sisters-in-law, Paula Bryant (Bowling Green, KY), and Cathy (Michael) Stewart (Anderson, IN), grandson, Nicholas Hunter (Bluffton, IN), granddaughter-in-law, Kenci Hunter Grayson (Dunkirk, IN), great-grandsons, Landon & Cayden Hunter (Dunkirk, IN), and many special nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held Friday, August 24, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Wears Valley United Methodist Church officiated by the Rev. Kathy Hale. The family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 26, 2012, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service in Anderson, Indiana. Graveside services will be held on Monday, August 27, 2012, 11:00 a.m. at Maplewood Cemetery in Anderson, Indiana.
