James (Jimmy) Albert Hitch passed away Friday, October 28, 2011 at the family home. Born July 3, 1930 to James and Irene Hitch, he was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church for 70 years, a member and past president of the Blount County Farm Bureau, and a member of the Blount County Livestock Producers Association. Jimmy, a retired dairy farmer, continued his passion for agriculture by maintaining active farming operations on Hillandale Farm, which was designated a Century Farm by the Tennessee Department of Agriculture in 2009. Jimmy is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marion Haddox Hitch and their children Al and Cynthia Hitch, Jennie and Duane Graves, Walt and Aretha Hitch and Jane and Darryl Hill; their grandchildren Jim and Lauren Hitch, Stephanie and Eric Pyle, Andrea and Adrian Grisanti, Rachel and Matt Tinker, Adam Hill, Hannah Hitch, John Hitch and Eric Bisangwa; and their great grandchildren, James Albert Hitch IV, Marlee Pyle, Bailey Pyle, Joseph Grisanti, and Allen Tinker. Funeral service will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 30, 2011 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Allan Atchley, Rev. Raymond Burnett, Rev. Kenny Armstrong officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A private family burial will be held.
