James Edward (Jim) Cook age 62 of Maryville, formerly of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, was called to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Jim was born in Atlanta, Georgia to Edward and Mary Cook, and at the age of 4 his family moved to Ft. Worth, Texas where he was raised. He graduated from North Texas state University and was employed as an accountant at Phillips Petroleum Company in Bartlesville for 31 years, retiring in 1999. Jim and his wife, Diana, moved to Maryville, TN in 2004 to "experience life somewhere else". Jim was a member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, yard work, traveling, and his beagles. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diana; sister, Katherine Jenkins of Burleson, TX; special aunt, Rebecca Hill of Maryville; and his cherished beagles, Buddy and Annie. His life will be celebrated at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2009 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00p.m. at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville.
