James Larry Byrd, Sr.

James "Larry" Byrd, age 61, of Louisville went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 21, 2015. He is a member of Laurel Bank Baptist Church. Larry retired from UT Hospital after 15 years of service. He was preceded in death by his father Reverend Herman Byrd, his step-father, Aubrey Dean Cook. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 29 years, Lyn Byrd; son, James Larry Jr., step-daughters, Jennifer Howard & Melissa Vincent; grandchildren; mother, Mattie Cook; brother, Donald; brother & sister-in-law, Ronald & Jane Byrd; sister-in-law, Kathy Pottsgrove; many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Smithview Pavilion. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Sunday at Smithview Pavilion.
