Irene S. Jones

Irene Snowdon Jones age 89 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011. A survivor of the London Blitz during WWII, she was born March 19, 1921 in Sunderland, England. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: Husband, Billy S. Jones, of Louisville, TN; Parents, William & Mary Snowdon; Brothers and Sisters of England. The family would like to thank homecare givers and the staffs of Morningview Transitional Care and Maryville Healthcare for their skills and kindness. Survived by: Son and Daughter-in-law, Robert and Martha Jones of Burlingame, CA; Son and Daughter-in-law, Alan and Susan Jones of Maryville; Daughter, Mary Hunt of Maryville; eight grandchildren. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Smith Trinity Chapel, Rev. Tony Collins and Rev. David Webster officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 3:00 PM, Saturday, March 12, 2011 at Ballard’s Chapel Cemetery for the interment. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Broadway Baptist Church, Maryville, building fund.
