Ina H. Russell

Ina Irene Hardester Russell, 93, passed away on March 11, 2016 at Kindred Fairpark in Maryville, TN. She was born on September 28, 1922 to John and Emma (Hefner) Hardester in Searcy County, Arkansas, and was the tenth of thirteen children. She married Ralph A. Russell on November 10, 1941 in Nevada, and she was a very devoted, caring wife and mother. Ina was a nurse’s aid in California, and later became a Licensed Practical Nurse and worked at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a long time member of East Maryville Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and sang in the choir for many years. She spent many of her retirement years as a caregiver and was an avid crocheter. She is survived by her children, Denny Russell of California, Linda Sykes (Taylor) of Maryville, John Russell of South Carolina and Jim Russell (Nancy) of North Carolina; ten grandchildren, Cheril Russell, John Russell, Patrick Russell, Talena (Mark) Douglass, Charlene Russell, Tonya (Rob) Hancock, John Russell, Jason (Rachel) Russell, Rhonda Russell, and Jill (David) Hinkle; seven great-grandchildren, Samantha Russell, Alex and Isaac Douglass, Ivo and Owen Peterson, Christian Russell and Baxton Hancock; sister Eva Harris of California. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph A. Russell, her parents, a dear grandson David Russell, and eleven brothers and sisters. Her family would like to thank the caring staff at Fairpark and Caris Hospice. Family will receive friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM, March 13, 2016 at Smith Trinity Chapel, with the funeral service at 3:30PM.
