Hugh Alexander "Rick" Rickard age 93 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at his home. He was a member of Maryville First Baptist Church. He previously attended Trinity Presbyterian Church of Alcoa where he was a deacon & Sunday school teacher for many years. Rick especially enjoyed singing in the choir. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy serving in World War II on a Supply Ship in the Pacific. He retired from Alcoa with 43 years of service and had farms in Blount County where he loved the land, was an avid gardener and raised lilies which he donated for fund raising to preserve the natural and historical beauty of Blount Co. He was a loving, joyful father and husband who touched many lives and will be remembered always. Preceded in death by, Wife, Florence Elizabeth Hamlin Rickard. Survivors include his Son & Daughter-in-law, Randy & Diana Rickard of Jacksonville, FL; Daughter & Son-in-law, Kim & Luis Soltero of Maryville, TN; Grandson, Daniel Robinson of Maryville; two brothers; two sisters; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Graveside service and entombment will be 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel with Chaplain Will Runyon officiating.
