Hugh Mason McGhee

Hugh Mason McGhee, age 82, of Maryville, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Asbury Place of Maryville. Mr. McGhee was a lifelong resident of the Maryville area and was the former owner and operator of McGhee Motors. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Hugh was employed for many years at Daniels Construction. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother who will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles McGhee and Jenny Haney McGhee Flannigan; one brother, George Wendell McGhee; He is survived by Wanda McGhee of Maryville; Sons and daughters-in-law, Mark and Marcy McGhee of Maryville, and Michael and Sandy McGhee of Vonore; Grandchildren, Brandy McGhee and Courtney McGhee; Brother and sister-in-law, Charles Winston and Yumie McGhee of Atoka, TN; Sisters and brother-in-law, Faye Simerly of Knoxville, and Michelle and Dr. Thomas Piazza of Detroit, Michigan; The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 4:00 until 6:00 p.m. at Smith Funeral & Cremation Service.
