Hugh (Ham) Melvin Hamilton, beloved husband of Patricia L Hamilton passed away December 9, 2007 in Maryville, TN. Ham was born May 6, 1924 outside Pittsburgh, PA and attended William and Mary University. He joined the Navy during WWII and was stationed aboard the USS Alabama. After the war, he and his brother Dale opened General Roofing Company. In 1960 Ham and his family moved to Dunedin, FL and opened Dunedin Lanes, Hi-Lanes, and Tarpon Bowling Lanes. After retirement he and Pat moved from Florida to Las Vegas, Augusta, GA, and then Maryville, TN to be near their children. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Pat; six children, Hugh M. Jr. (Kip) of Grovetown, GA, Mark of Dunedin, FL, Marcia Soutullo of Greenback, TN, Clark of Augusta, GA, Scott of Holiday, FL, and Mary Pat of Martinez, GA; 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Pat currently resides with her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia & Joseph Soutullo, in Greenback, TN. Memorial service 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2007, in the chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 1402 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN 37803, 865-983-1000.
