Genell Hooper Riegle

Genell Hooper Riegle, age 92, of Maryville, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2015 at Asbury Place of Maryville. She had a lifelong love for her church and church families as a founding member of Unity Baptist Church, attending Monte Vista Baptist Church, and most recently at First Baptist Church of Alcoa. She was retired from Maryville College with Saga Foods and was a volunteer at Blount Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Program. She was a member of the Democratic Women's Club and worked with Contact Ministries, assisting with family counseling. Preceded in death by: Parents, David & Paralee Hooper; Husbands, W. Fred Yates, Hubert Wilson, and Bob Riegle; Nine brothers and sisters. Survivors include: Daughters & Sons-in-law, Ronda & Steve Gregory of Seminole, FL and Sandy & Mickey Anderson of Alcoa; Grandchildren, David & Shelly Anderson of Maryville, Randie & Greg Vella of Orlando, FL, Andy & Heather Anderson of Elizabethton, TN, Sarah & Whit Taylor of St. Pete, FL, and John & Lauren Horton of Charlotte, NC; 13 Great-Grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, cousins and other family also survive. Special thanks to caregivers, Alicia, Brooke, Rebecca, Cayla, Juanita, & others. Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. David Anderson and Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. Celebration of Life will be at 3:00 PM, Saturday, January 17, 2015 at First Baptist Church Alcoa.
