Herbert L. Foxx

Herbert L. Foxx, age 85 of Maryville passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He attended Ellejoy Baptist Church and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Herbert was a retired school teacher, teaching 35 years with over 30 years at Holston High School. He was preceded in death by parents, Ernest and Effie Foxx; brother, Hulet "Hoot" Foxx; father and mother-in-law, Wiley and Rachel Rogers; brother-in-law, Harvey Rogers. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Norma; brothers, Hix Foxx and Earl Foxx; sisters, Lena (Dale) Tipton, Ruby Schlangen, Thelma (Mike) Tipton, Barbara (Reece) Boling, Sue Tucker, and Janice (Wayne) Teffeteller; brother-in-law, Jim Rogers; sisters-in-law, Margaret Foxx, Dorothy Rogers, Geraldine (Earl) Ford, and Deloris Boatman; 27 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Dr. Kevin James, the nurses and staff on the 4 North and 5 North floors and the E.R. staff at Blount Memorial Hospital. Family will receive friends from 5:30 until 7:00 pm Friday, January 31, 2014 with funeral service to follow in the West Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service with Rev. Jim Lawhorn and Rev.
