Herbert Bell

Herbert “Buster” Bell age 79 of Alcoa, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at home in his sleep. Buster graduated from Everett High School Class of 1955. He was a member of the Andrew Jackson Masonic Lodge #68 in Fayetteville, TN. Herbert was a lifetime member of the United States Submarine Veterans Smokey Mountain Base, and a member of the Holland Club, served aboard USS Woodrow Wilson, USS Thomas Edison, USS SkipJack, lifetime member of American Legion Post #13, Elk Lodge #1792 in Fayetteville. He retired after 22 years of service with the United States Navy. After retirement, he worked for 23 years for Raython in Fayetteville, TN. Preceded in death by: Parents, Herbert Bell & Lucille Harless Creech. Survivors include: Wife of 60 years, Helen Greene Bell; Sons & Daughters-in-law, Terry & Lori Bell of Lewisburg, TN, Gary & Missy Bell of Fayetteville, TN, and Steve & Danelle Bell of Rochester, NY; Daughters and Sons-in-law, Leslie & Butch Craddock of Fayetteville, TN and Dawn & David “Pete” Hill of Alcoa, TN; Grandchildren, Matt Bahr, John Bobbitt, Joshua Bell, David Lee Hill, Jennifer Reeves, Lindsey GreenLee, Celena Bell, Gage Bell, and Isaac Hall; 12 Great-Grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 PM, Saturday, July 23, 2016 at Ballards Chapel Church. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM with Rev. Henry Linginfelter officiating.
