Henry George Van Horssen

February 12, 1960 — November 19, 2018

Henry George Van Horssen, of Maryville, passed away at the age of 58 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center on Monday, November 19, 2018. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a loyal and dedicated employee with General Motors with over 30 years of service. He loved his family and was an extremely proud Opa to Reese. He had a quirky and wonderful sense of humor, and truly never met a stranger; always making new friends wherever he may have been. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willem and Johanna Van Horrsen. Survivors include his wife and best friend, Debbie Van Horssen; Daughters, Lindsay Van Horssen and Kelsey Van Horssen; Grandson, Reese; Brothers and Sister-in-law, Pedro Van Horrsen, Johnny Van Horssen, and Robbie and Ann Van Horssen all of Utah; Sisters and Brothers-in-law, Marian and Hal Short of Colorado, Joan and Ken Oordt of Washington state, and Marlene and David Long of Colorado; Many nieces, nephews, and other family also survive. A Celebration of Henry’s life will be held on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Hampton Hall, 627 Smithview Drive, Maryville, TN 37803, from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm. This will be a celebration, and the family asks that you feel free to dress accordingly. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making donations in Henry’s name to the Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital 2200 Children's Way, Nashville, TN 37232 or to the Samaritans’ Purse P.O.
