Henry E. Guigou Jr.

Henry E. Guigou Jr. was born and raised in Hickory, NC on November 20th, 1933, to Marie Louise and Henry E. Guigou. He attended NC State and the University of Tennessee. He graduated with a degree in music from UT in 1957. Henry served in the United States Army. He was the first Mr. Knoxville (Man of the Year) in 1969 and was active in musical theatre at Clarence Brown Theatre. He then went on to have a distinguished career at the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce and The University of Tennessee. Henry loved his family, farm, and spending time with the Ellejoy Market Breakfast club every morning. He volunteered for various charitable organizations including the Mabry Hazen House, Friends of the Smokies, and others. Henry was an avid gardener and outdoorsman. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Marie Louise Guigou. Survived by his wife, Debbie Guigou; sons and daughters-in-law, Henry Guigou III and wife Rose, Micol Guigou and wife Marci, Will Guigou; daughter, Lauren Guigou; grandchildren, Emilie Guigou, Zack Guigou, Henry Guigou IV, Alanah Guigou. Family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2018 at Cedar Grove Cemetery.
