Harvey Ed Garland age 82 of Maryville passed away at home December 12, 2008. He was a Veteran of United States Army during World War II where he received the Expert Infintryman Badge, the Meritoruis Unit Award, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon, Philippine Independence Ribbon, and the Victory Medal. Preceded in death by: Father, Jake Garland; Mother, Zena Garland; Brothers, Donald and Henry Garland; Sisters, Univee Garland and Leona Myers. Survivors include: Wife of 62 years, Marie Garland; Son & Daughter-in-law, Troy & Debbie Garland of Townsend; Daughters & Sons-in-law, Delores & Ray Teffeteller, Linda & Sonny Boring, and Betty & Malcolm Inman all of Maryville; Grandchildren, Edward and Tommy Teffeteller, Lisa Tipton, Robin Lambert, Charlie & Angie Garland, Penny Ferguson, Jimmy & Steve Gooden; Great-Grandchildren, Jamil and Malia Ferguson, C.J. Revels, Jay and Devin Gooden, Brittany Johnson, Amy, Ashley and Angela Tipton, Joni Teffeteller, Kishia Scott; Great-Great-Grandchildren, Haley Tipton, Chase Gooden and Destiny Henry; Brother, Fred & Judy Garland, Wiley & Jhonnie Garland, J.C. & Frances Garland; Sisters, Hazel Cope, Sylvia & Darryl Galde, Ethel Sentell, and Nancy Myers. Funeral service will be at 7:00 PM, Saturday, December 13, 2008 at Smith West Chapel with Rev. John Russell officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM, Sunday, December 14, 2008 at Grandview Cemetery.
