Harris Keener Cunningham, age 89 of Maryville passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Harris was born February 28, 1921 in Maryville. He graduated from Maryville High School and served our country with the U.S. Navy Seabees in World War II. Harris was retired from the Aluminum Company of America where he was a machinist for 41 years. He was a jack of all trades who built several houses in the Eagleton subdivision. Harris was a member of Broadway Baptist Church. Preceded in death by: his wife, Dorothy Jean Cunningham (Hines); brother, Aldon Cunningham; sister, Lois Harvey; father, Jim Cunningham; mother, Fredda Cunningham (Keener). Harris is survived by his two daughters, Debra von Bernuth and her husband Charlie of Camarillo, California and Janet Hartsock and her husband Mike of Centerville, Ohio; Grandchildren, Kyle and Kendra von Bernuth and step granddaughter Jessica Hartsock; Sister in law, Euretha Cunningham; Nieces and Nephews, Carol Smaltz Glenn, Jim Smaltz, Eric Smaltz; and close friends Bill Haney, Betty White, and Wayne Langford. Funeral service will be at 2:00 pm, Saturday, October 2, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. David Webster officiating. Entombment will follow at Grandview Mausoleum Chapel.
