Harold Ray Strickland, beloved husband, father, and stepfather age 70 of Walland, TN was born in Eagle Lake Texas and resided in Amite, LA until his retirement in Walland, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, TN. He was a member of the US Army Reserves for 3 years and was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Strickland also was a member of the Woodmen of the World. He was a retired carpenter and an avid deer hunter. He was preceded by his parents, Howard Clement Strickland and Margie Corkern Strickland of Amite, LA and brother, Gerald Strickland of Zachary, LA; and his grand-daughter, Colleen Johnson. Survivors include his wife Marie Strickland; son and daughter-in-law, Dewaine Ray & Mimi Strickland of Tulsa, OK, daughters and sons-in-law, Jelaine & Gerald Graham of Franklinton, LA, Johnna & Rusty Creel of Pine, LA; Stepdaughters, Robin & Steven Haynes of Smyrna, TN, Rachel & Richard Stansbury of Laverne, TN, Julie Johnson of Walker, LA and Jackie & Jim Kennedy of Oregon, IL, 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and several cousins. He will be missed desperately and was loved greatly by all. This is the testament to the decent man he was and the hard working life he led. He was truly a good and loving husband, father and grandfather. May the love and protection of our Lord keep him safe and happy. Family memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at Smith Funeral and Cremation Service, Maryville, TN, 865-983-1000.
