Harold I. Coleman Jr., affectionately known as “Skip,” fell asleep Saturday, February 18 at a very young 78 and is awaiting the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Skip is survived by his loving and beloved wife, Patty Coleman; together they are heirs of the grace of life. He is also survived by a daughter, Sherie Coleman, who is just like her dad, and a son, Dale Coleman, who also is just like his dad, and Dale’s two sons, Dylan and Devin Coleman, Skip’s grandsons who he adored. He has three sisters, Joanne Coleman with a son, Robert Zuccarello, Pam and her husband Jerry Suttles, and Donna with her husband Wayne Dyke.

Skip was born to Harold Sr. and Noma Coleman in 1944. He grew up in Cranbury, NJ and enlisted in the US Air Force when he was 17. His family and neighbors could always count on him. He was there to lend a helping hand, generously giving in any way he could.

Skip was a wonderful man of God and served Him with his whole heart. He was a faithful workman of the scriptures and loved to share God’s heart with others. He also loved caring for his wife and taking care of their home.

Recently, he was a caregiver to his mother-in-law, Pat, whom he loved as a mom. He also did lawn care for others. Prior to this, he was a roofer and alarm system installer. Years ago, Skip enjoyed collecting postage stamps and riding motorcycles. He had motorcycles for 50 years!

Special family and friends include Don and Debbie Adsit along with April, Luke, Lindsay and Chloe, Aunt Phyllis O’Connell, cousin Bitners, Rev. Doug and Karen Orlick, Rev. Dan and Dee Davis, Maurine Riddle, Ed and Donna Parris, Juan and Karyn Valades, Jon and Candia Lucenius and childhood friends John and Jean Elias and Bill and Nancy Pankevich.

Skip Coleman lived a great life; he was an amazing husband and a true servant of God! A Recognition will be held on Saturday, May 13th, 2023, at 11am, at the Grandview Cemetery Pavilion (2304 Tuckaleechee Pike, Maryville, TN  37803). The family kindly requests that no flowers be sent until the Recognition.
