Hale T. Foster, age 78, of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006, at U.T. Hospital after a valiant fight against cancer. Hale was a joyous member of Walland United Methodist Church, where he and Norma have many dear Christian friends. His enduring belief in God touched others and brought joy to his heart and spirit. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Korean War and retired from the Tennessee Air National Guard. He was a problem-solver and an optimist and looked for the best in all he met. Hale is preceded in death by his mother, Mary, father, Fred, and brothers, and sisters. His adored family includes his wife of 48 years, Norma M. Foster; his three daughters, Cindy Lloyd, Jennifer Huffstetler, and Amanda Johnson; his sons-in-law, Jim Lloyd, Ed Huffstetler and Tim Johnson; his six loving grandsons, Darren Lloyd, Ryan Lloyd, Eric Huffstetler, Bradley Huffstetler, Ross Johnson and Tyler Johnson; and three nieces and three nephews. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Rev. Eddie Collier officiating. The family and friends will assemble at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 28, 2006 in the Grandview Mausoleum for entombment service and following at Walland United Methodist Church for a Celebration of Life and meal at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Hale would want donations made to his and Norma's church, Walland United Methodist Church, 315 E. Millers Cove Rd., Walland, Tn. 37886. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 from 5:30 until 7:00 p.m. in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Mortuary, Maryville.
