Guy Floyd Lucier

Guy Lucier, age 85, of Maryville passed away Wednesday April 8, 2020. He is survived by Fran Lucier, his wife of 63 years; Becky Gay, his daughter, son-in-law Chris Gay, and their sons Harrison and Davis; Bruce Lucier, his son, daughter-in-law Laura Lucier, and their kids Ben, Sadie, Emily, and Alec. Guy was preceded in death by his daughter Laura Vidal in 2013. Guy was born in New York state, but moved as a child to Tampa, FL with his family. He served as a US Marine 1953-56. Guy and Fran were married soon after and dwelled in Florida many years where they raised their two daughters and son. He worked as a computer programmer and systems analyst for Prudential Insurance and retired after 30 years. In retirement Guy was active in his community. He was a volunteer for Friends of DeLeon Springs, FL for 25 years; volunteered at the Barberville, FL Pioneer Settlement for 25 years; worked as a Meals on Wheels volunteer for 16 years; and volunteered for the DeLand Public Library for over 10 years. More than anything Guy loved spending time with his family (especially in the Smoky Mountains); Travelling; Gardening; Oil and Watercolor painting; Wood working and wood carving; Hiking; Fishing; Listening to classical music; and daily walks with the love of his life, Fran. Guy and Fran moved to Maryville in spring 2019 and are current members of First United Methodist Church of Maryville.
