Greta May Griffin

Greta May Coburn Griffin went to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 24, 2023. Greta was born on June 8, 1937 in Chelsea, Vermont to the late Ralph and Anna Sweet Coburn. Greta was preceded in death by her son, Richard Jay Griffin; and infant daughter, Susan A. Griffin; siblings, Robert Coburn, Jean Bayne, Muriel Laliberte, Patricia Widli, Lois Thompson, Irving Coburn, and Joyce Gomez. Greta is survived by her husband of 62 years, Phillip Griffin; her children, Steven Griffin, Carla Summers, and Nancy and Brent Harrison; grandchildren, Janna Harrison (Josh King), Katie Griffin, Taylor (Crissi) Harrison; great-grandchildren, Waylon Bennett, Ronnie Harrison; sister, Phyllis Blanchard; daughter-in-law,  Lori Griffin; sister-in-law, Vonna Coburn; brother-in-law, Ramon Gomez; special nephew, Cedric Blanchard; special nieces, Carey Haug, Marie Prescott, Heidi Elias; special friends, Dorothy Kirst and Carol Harrison; many other nieces and nephews. Greta worked for several years as a secretary at Victory Baptist Church and as secretary to the late Senator Carl Koella. She and her husband are members at New Hope Baptist Church in Maryville, TN. Greta served her Heavenly Father as well as her family all her life. Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Smith Trinity Chapel. The Funeral Service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Luke Wilkerson officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM for Interment Friday, September 29, 2023 at Grandview Cemetery.
