Grayson William Tipton

Grayson William (Dubb) Tipton age 75 was called home to be with his Lord on Friday October 30, 2015. G.W. retired from Alcoa after 38 years, was a member of Local 309 and the 25 year club. Mr. Tipton was an inspiration to all with his love of life despite the many health issues he faced. He loved camping, motorcycling and music. He lived his life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family. Mr. Tipton received a special gift, The Lord gave him a preview of Heaven. Pap was so excited and happy to share his preview with many family and friends who have visited. G.W. was a descendent of the original Tipton family that settled in Cades Cove. He was preceded in death by his father Claude Tipton, brother Denny Tipton, mother- in-law and father- in-law Georgia and Alvin Cooper, brothers- in- law Gary Rose and Sam Moses, sister- in- law Margaret Cooper. He is survived by his best friend and wife of 40 years Wanda, mother Bertha Wright, children Greg and Renee, Darlene and Marty Cable, Keith and Deb Cole, Kristy and John Clark, Kevin and Harmony Cole, grandchildren Travis (Jenna), Drew and Jesse Tipton, Beth (Austin) Hall, Ashley and Gage Cole, Landon and Miranda Clark, Tucker, Shelby, Torey and Harley Cole, great grandson Lucas Tipton, brother Dillard (Beverly) Tipton, sisters Bonnie (Rick) Morrow and Marie Rose, brother- in-law Butch (Eva) Cooper and sister- in- law Debbie Moses, several nephews, nieces, cousins and extended family members and many special friends and neighbors. The family would like to thank Dr. Smuckler for being such a wonderful friend and physician as well as Blount Memorial Hospice for their care during his illness. Funeral service will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday November 3, 2015, in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service with Rev. Butch Cooper officiating. Family and friends will meet at 12:15 pm on Wednesday November 4, 2015, to go in procession to Grandview Cemetery for the interment at 1:00 pm. Family will receive friends on Tuesday prior to the service from 5:00pm until 7:00pm. Memorial donations may be made to Blount Memorial Hospice.
