Gracie Lucile Cotner

Gracie "Lucile" Cotner departed this life Wednesday, January 24th at Blount Memorial Hospital. Lucile was born to the late Robert and Martha Brooks on December 25, 1939 in Tazewell, TN. Lucile was known for her pound cakes, her beautiful flowers, and her good deeds for the sick and shut in. She always left a lasting impression on everyone she would meet. She was preceded in death by her son, Walter (Brother) Cotner Jr.; brother, Robert Brooks Jr.; parents, Robert & Martha Brooks. Lucile leaves to cherish her memory to the loves of her life: Devoted husband of 57 years, Walter Cotner Sr.; Dedicated daughter, Martha Eugenia (Silas) Cotner-Robinson; and Loving grandson, Sidney Hall; Sister-in-laws, Mabel Cotner, Laura Manuel, Elizabeth Cotner and Helen (Carl) Locke and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to include three special ones: Faye Garrett Yeary, Glinda Jo Brooks, and Priscilla "Cookie" Wald. The friends are too numerous to name but we have to recognize Mr. J.C. (Beverly) Anderson and the Alexander Family. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 28, 2018 at Smith West Chapel from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 with Rev. Billy Davis officiating and Rev. Joe Colquitt, Eulogist. Interment will be held Monday, January 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
