Grace Lee Hubbs Goode

Goode, Grace Lee Hubbs of Maryville, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2007 at Asbury Place. Grace was the daughter of the late Henry R. and Glenn Dora Yearout Hubbs of Knoxville. She was born June 26, 1918 the day after her father left for WWI. She attended Knoxville High School and later worked for the Knoxville City Schools. She was married to the late James William Goode in August of 1947. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church of Maryville where she served as an eight year old primary teacher for years. She served her church as Sunday School Secretary, WMU and Golden Glow Choir members, and faithfully visited shut-ins and widows of the church. She touched the lives of all who came in contact with her. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Bobbie Householder; brother, Richard Hubbs and daughter-in-law, Leslie Goode. She is survived by her son; Jim Goode of Maryville; daughter, Jamie Goode Bruce (Glenn) of Paris, Tennessee. She was abundantly blessed with eight grandchildren: Dwayne Bruce (Jana), Brandon Bruce (Jenny), Lori Snow (Bert), Kristin Rosa (Jason), Joshua, Jeremy, Jonathan, and Katrina Goode; as well as six great grandchildren. Special loved ones who survive are brother-in-law, Glen Householder; sister-in-law, Luvanne Hubbs, nieces and nephews Glenda Eastridge, Gary and Alan Householder, Ann Wells and Janet Ruffin and their families. A host of nieces and nephews of the Goode family survive as well. Funeral service 7:30 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Interment will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11, 2007 at Lynnhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Broadway Baptist Church, 2329 E.
