Grace Millsaps Brown

Grace Millsaps Brown, 81, of Walland passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023 at UT Medical Center surrounded by her family. Despite contracting polio at age 3, Grace never let that stop her from accomplishing any of her goals. She was a fighter her whole life and the epitome of grace, just like her name. She graduated from Walland High School, where she was the salutatorian then attended Cooper Business College. She worked for Star Sales Company as an office manager, where she retired after 39 years. Grace was a faithful member of Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church where she served as treasurer for 35 years. Grace loved sports, especially New York Yankees baseball and Pittsburgh Steelers football as well as watching the UT Vols play football every Saturday. But most of all she loved her family and her Lord.

Preceded in death by her loving husband of 45 years, J.H. Brown; parents, Charles and Mildred Millsaps; and brothers Bill Millsaps and A.C. Millsaps. She is survived by her daughter, Bethany Hatmaker (Tim) and grand-dogs Thatcher and Winston; sisters, Aletha Lowe, Sue Myers (Rick); brothers, Paul Ray Millsaps, and Ronnie Millsaps (Mary); as well as many special nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday, August 10^, 2023 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM with Rev. Jimmy Webb and Rev. Tom Waring officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00 AM for Graveside Service and Interment Friday, August 11, 2023 at Rocky Branch Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Chad Morrison officiating.
