Gloria Dean Miller Droom, 77 years, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, September 22, 2019. Gloria is survived by her beloved husband, William David Droom of Maryville; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Kevin Lilburn of Oklahoma, Terri and Tom Carey of Pennsylvania; Cindi and Stan Stooksbury of Norris, Showni and Michael Crump of Rockford; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Howard Miller of Alcoa and Neil Miller of Maryville. Daughter, Missi preceded Gloria to heaven in December 2018, parents, Robert Bruce Miller and Bessie Mote Huffstetler Miller and sister, Carol Jean Miller Jarrett many years prior. Gloria was a nurse for almost two decades before being physically disabled by a work accident, but she never let that slow her down. Gloria worked diligently with Vietnam Veterans seeking medical treatment and governmental assistance for the deleterious effects of agent-orange; because of Gloria’s tireless volunteer services, there are now fishing piers for the disabled at Indian Boundary Lake and Green Cove Pond. Gloria’s remains are to be cremated so that her life can be celebrated at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations, in Gloria’s name be sent to the Patricia Neal Rehabilitation Clinic, patneal.org/giving, 865-531-5210.
