Glen Arthur Lintner, age 86 of Maryville, is now resting in the arms of his Lord. A twenty-year USAF veteran, Glen flew fighters over S.E. Asia and then piloted rescue helicopters over Vietnam. He loved his country very much and gave everything for his military comrades during times of war and beyond. He is a recipient of The Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals, and the Air Force Commendation Medal. His love of education compelled him to start a nonprofit scholarship foundation in his tiny home town of Tabor, Iowa which has grown over the years to help many poor, farm raised high school graduates go on to college. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; daughters, Meghan, Linda, and Michelle; brother, Marvin Lintner; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Tabor Scholastic Foundation, PO Box 420, Tabor, Iowa 51653. A graveside service with military honors will take place at 11:30 AM on Friday, August 24, 2018 at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 2200 East Governor John Sevier Hwy, Knoxville, TN 37920.
