Mrs. Gladys Marie Gilley Stewart

Gladys Marie Gilley Stewart, age 88, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013 in Knoxville, TN. Born July 9, 1925 in Benham, Harlan, Kentucky to Fred Warren & Lora Mae (White) Gilley. She was a loving mother, homemaker and longtime resident of Alcoa, Blount, TN. Gladys loved reading the Bible, serving the Lord and was a member of Bible Baptist Church, Alcoa, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Ralph Stewart; daughter, Joyce Ann Stewart; Son, Richard Eugene Stewart; parents; brother, Clayton Manley Gilley and sister, Mildred Joyce Henry (Cecil) of Middletown, OH. Survivors include daughters, Wilma Jean Ross (Ted) of Columbia, SC, Brenda Joyce Stinnett (Steve) of Knoxville, TN and son, Johnny Ray Stewart (Ann) of Lexington, KY; grandchildren, Clinton Ross, Nathan Ross (Beth), Kathryn Ross, Hope Stinnett Lacey (Stephen), Elizabeth Stinnett Delaney; great-grandchildren, Zeke Ross, Madison Ross, Kiley Lacey, Malachi Delaney, Joshua Delaney and Zacariah Delaney. Also surviving are brothers, Clifford Gilley (Margaret) of Chattahoochee, FL, James "Jim" Gilley (Sylvia) of Loveland, OH and sister, Retha Adams (Talmadge) of Laurel, MS. A Celebration of Mrs. Stewart's Life will be at 2:00pm Friday, December 27, 2013 in the Smith East Hall with Rev. Wayne Atchley officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Gardens, Alcoa, TN. The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00pm Friday at Smith East Hall.
