Gilbert Costner

Gilbert Costner age 80, native of Blount County but has lived in other areas across the country, passed away Monday, March 16, 2015 at Kindred Care Maryville. He was a graduate of Young High School in Knoxville and was a Veteran of the United States Air Force. Gilbert worked with Bendix Corp in the space program and also worked with IBM until retirement. Preceded in death by: Parents, Fate & Ruby Sparks Costner; Brother, Kenneth Costner and Herman (Tuffy) Costner. Survivors include: Brother, Gene Costner of Cairo, GA; Sisters, Dovie Blair of Maryville and Donna & Mike Shinliver of Rockford; several nieces and nephews and other extended family. The family requests no flowers. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and interment at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 20, 2015 at Grandview Cemetery.
