Gerhard Gary Rush

Gerhard (Gary) Rush, 66 of Maryville, passed away on December 9, 2009 at his home. Gary was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 2, 1943 to Ephraim A. & Catherine B. (Wekenborg) Rush. He was preceded in death by: parents; brothers, William (Bill) & Ephriam (Bud) Rush. He completed his education while serving the United States Navy from 1962 �" 1966. While in the Navy, he began his training to become a barber. He opened his first barber shop in Woodbridge, IL. From there, Gary held various barber positions and security guard positions in Illinois, Utah, Colorado, and Tennessee, until his health began to decline. He enjoyed fishing and carpentry. He is survived by: wife, Hazel Rush of Walland, TN; three daughters, Deanna (Pete) Schaefer of Maryville, TN, Dawn (Dennis) Rockey of Grand Ridge, IL, and Donna L. Rush of MI; son, Jason Rush of Walland, TN; two sisters, Carol (Harry) Adrian of IL and Sharon (Mike) Brown of SC; brother, Joe Rush of UT; four granddaughters, Mariah & Logan Schaefer and Marissa & Madelyn Rockey. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 9, 2010 at Embassy Christian Center in Maryville with Pastor Tod Zeiger and Wil Barton officiating. The family will be available directly after the service for visitation at the church. Memorials may be directed to the family through Embassy Christian Center.
