Gerd Paul Kessler

Gerd P. Kessler, age 90 of Maryville, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2018. He was preceded by his wife of 63 years, Gerda H. Kessler. They came to America in 1957 from Berlin, Germany and fulfilled the American dream. They lived in Chicago, Illinois, Sun City West, Arizona, Townsend, Tennessee, and finally lived in Maryville for the last 17 years. Gerd was a tool and die maker at Schlegel for many years before retiring. He loved the mountains, planting trees, taking walks, and watching Bundesliga Soccer games on German satellite. He will be greatly missed by his family; his daughter, Silvily Thomas and husband Emry of Los Angeles; son, Gerald Kessler and wife, Megan of Maryville; grandchildren: Greg Kessler and wife, Anya, Erica St. James and husband, Jeremy, Imari Thomas, Alex Kessler, Morgan Kessler, and Emily Kessler; great grandchildren: Halona England and Chilton St. James.
