Gerald Edward Harrison Sr. age 79 of Maryville passed away Saturday, August 9, 2014 at home. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church. He was devoted to his Boy Scout Troop 185 and expressed his admiration of the era that he grew up in. He was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1952 and attended Maryville College. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and gardening and loved his family. He will be sadly missed by his children, friends and relatives. He worked for American Bridge and Steel in the 1950's. In 1957, he worked in Unalakleet, Alaska on the US Government DEW (Distant Early Warning) Line Radar System on the towers. He retired from Aluminum Company of America (ALCOA) after 31 years of service. Preceded in death by: Wife, Jimmie Freels Harrison; Parents, Chester Horace & Monie Harrison. Survivors include: Sons, Jerry Harrison and Mark Harrison; Daughter, LeeAnn Harrison Pfeiffer & late husband Mike Pfeiffer; Grandchildren, Matthew Lee Pfeiffer, Josh David Pfeiffer and wife Ashley, Lyndsie Harrison Franklin & husband Nathan Charles Franklin; Great-Grandchildren, Ella Grace Franklin and Danielle Mae Pfeiffer; Sisters, Betty Harrison and Virginia Harrison Taylor. Funeral service will be at 8:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Doug Sager officiating. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery.
