Georgia May Chambers

Georgia May Chambers age 93 of Maryville, TN went to be with the Lord and joined her late husband M.L. Chambers on May 9, 2014. She was the daughter of Reverend E. J. Peters and Nellie Williams Peters of Harrogate, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 66 years, 4 brothers, and 2 sisters. Survivors include: Daughter & Son-in-law, Barbara Ann & Bob Curtis of Johnson City, TN; Grandchildren, Deborah Davenport & husband Charlie of Knoxville, TN and Dionne Eversole of Chattanooga, TN; Five Great-Grandchildren, Chelsea and Devin Gray, Janay Medina, and Madison and McKenzie Odum; 2 Step Great-Grandsons, Neyland and Connor Davenport; Brother, Clyde Peters of Cumberland Gap; and several nieces and nephews. She was a member of Broadway Baptist Church for over 55 years. She was a member of Martha Washington Chapter 231 Order of the Eastern Star for 56 years, serving in the office of past Worthy Matron and committee member. She was a member of Blount Hills Home Demonstration Club and past president and secretary of the Woodmen of the World. The family would like to extend a special "Thank you" to her niece Charlotte Hammontree, her neighbors Flossie Perkey and Ricky Jones, Dr. Marye McCrosky and her nurse Donna, and all the nurses and staff at Tennova Hospice Hospital who provided care with such love and compassion. Funeral service will be at 3:00 PM, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Tony Collins officiating. Pallbearers are: Ronnie Chambers, Charlie Davenport, Devin Gray, Ricky Jones, Denny Peters, Shawn Peters. Family and friends will assemble for interment at 4:00 PM, Sunday, May 11, 2014 at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
