Panter, George M. age 84 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, June 10, 2006 at his home. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army serving in both World War II and Korean War. He was a retired printer and a 32 Degree Mason. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Beatrice Panter and his brother, Wayman Panter. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Bertha Tate Panter; daughter and son-in-law, LaDonna and Ronnie Collins of Friendsville; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Kelly Panter of Tampa Florida;; four grandchildren, LaRonda and husband Glen Beam, Terri and husband Lee Courtney, Kristopher and Michael Panter; five great grandchildren, Julianne and Ryan Curci, LeAnn, Amy, and Hannah Beam; brother Harold Panter; sisters, June Young, Carolyn Buffington, and Merle Goodman. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, June 14, 2006, in the West Chapel of Smith Mortuary with Pastor Larry Bradley officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Blount Memorial Hospice at 1095 East Lamar Alexander Parkway, Maryville, TN 37804.
