George Francis Millsaps age 91 of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2010 at home. He never met a stranger and loved everyone. He was a member of the Maryville Church of Christ; a minister for the Lord in Oklahoma for 23 years; a member of Unitia Lodge #295, a licensed auctioneer; Santa Claus for 60 years; served as Blount County School Board Member 1988-1992; Toastmaster for 35 years and a veteran of World War II. He was retired from the Oklahoma Tax Commission holding the title of Deputy Director. Preceded in death by: Parents, Mose & Ida Millsaps; Brothers, Elmer, John and Charles Millsaps; Sister, Mae Millsaps Hatcher. Survivors include: Wife, Delsie Graves Millsaps; Son & Wife, Ralph & Mary Millsaps of Indiana; Step-son & wife, Van & Rene’ Graves of Knoxville; Grandchildren, Craig Millsaps of Georgia, Eric, Erin and Evan Millsaps of Indiana, Matthew and Meredith Graves of Knoxville; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to June, Fay and Ruth for their help, love and support; also, to Blount Memorial Hospice for their devoted services. Friends may call at their convenience between the hours of 1:00 PM and 6:00 PM on Wednesday or 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM on Thursday. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Smith Trinity Chapel with Dr. Jim Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow at Cold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.
