George M. Mckee

McKee, George “Mike�? Michael born May 27, 1942 to George and Mary (Cone) McKee in Kokomo, In. He married Denise (Nickey) Pniewski on June 14, 1984 in San Diego. He was a graduate of Kokomo High School in 1960. Mike joined the United States Navy in 1960 with a career aboard the USS Kitty Hawk, USS Ford, and USS Yosemite lasting until his retirement from Great Lakes Naval Station in 1991. Mike was a very talented wood worker. Many of his family and friends reaped the rewards of his crafts. His specialty was shadow boxes he made for all of his retiring military friends. He was preceded in death by; parents, George and Mary McKee, son, Timothy McKee, father and mother-in-law, John and Florentine Pniewski. He is survived by; wife, Nickey of 25 years, son, Bobby McKee, grandson, Dakota McKee, grand-daughters, Morgan and Michelle McKee, sisters and brothers, Dennis McKee of Washington State, Tim and Linda McKee of Kokomo, In., Colleen and Ken Rich of Kokomo, In., Patsy and Coy Richardson of Ft. Worth Tx., Sheila and Jeff Haworth of Kokomo, In., several nieces and nephews, In-laws, Donna and Bob Tiefenbach, Mark and Cheryl Pniewski, and niece, Angela. Family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Monday, May 24, 2010 in the Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral and Cremation Service. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 10:00 am at Smithview Pavilion and Event Center, 601 Smithview Dr. Maryville, Tn. 37803, with full military honors.
