George Glenn Hammond age 88 of Maryville passed away Thursday, August 30, 2012 at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Everett Hills Baptist Church, retired from Roadway Trucking Co., and a Veteran of the US Army serving in World War II and Korean Wars. Preceded in death by: Parents, George Harrison Hammond & Ella Lee Strickland Hammond; Brothers, Robert & Kelly; Sisters, Aline, Annie Myrtle, Ruby, Sibyl and Lucille. Survivors include: Wife of 70 years, Juanita Hammond; Son & Daughter-in-law, Mike & Mary Hammond; Daughter & Son-in-law, Barbara & John T. (Tommy) Jones; Grandchildren, Mark & Paula Jones, Karen & Steve Russell, and Jerry Hammond; Great-Grandchildren, Amy & Stephen King, Blake Russell, Elise Jones & fiancé Josh Rainey, Evan Jones, and Jade Hammond; Brother, Hill Hammond; Special friends, Ralph Irwin & Pearlie Kirkland.
