George "Clyde" Gregory, of Alcoa passed away Thursday, November 15, 2007. He was born February 7, 1911 in Carnesville, GA. He was a member of Alcoa First Baptist Church for over 55 years. Clyde was also a member of the Prudentia Masonic Lodge #719 for over 50 years and a member of the Eastern Star, Scottish Rite of Freemasonry, York Rite and The Shriners. He retired from ALCOA with 42 years of service and was a member of the 25 Year Club. Preceded in death by his parents, Perley J. and Dora Catherine Gregory; brothers, Greely, Melvin, Paul, Hugh, Glenn, and Wilbur Gregory; sisters, Ivalee Effler, Ethel Gregory, and Clara Heaton. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Pauline Nichols Gregory; sister-in-law, Julia Gregory. He was a very special uncle and was loved by several nieces and nephews. Funeral and Masonic Services will be at 7:00 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2007 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Freeman Tomlin officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 18, 2007 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Saturday in the Smith Trinity Chapel of Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, 983-1000.
