George Edward Everhart

April 16, 1926 — May 3, 2009

George Edward Everhart age 83 of Maryville, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. He was a member of Prudentia Lodge # 719 in Alcoa, 32� KCCH, Kerbela Shrine, Order of Eastern Star Prudence Chapter, and a member of Hillview Baptist Church. He was retired from Alcoa after 44 years of service and the Blount County Sheriff's Department. Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Carrie Lou Everhart; brothers, Erskin, Elbert, and Johnny Everhart; sister, Mame Sue Hodge. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Marie Everhart; son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Brenda Everhart of Maryville; daughter, Catherine Everhart of Maryville; grandson, George Edward Robert Everhart; granddaughters, Kristie Tipton and Heather Bean; great grandson, Owen Daniel Bean; brother, Frank Everhart of Union Co.; sisters, Toy and husband Ernie Gibson, Blanche and husband Andrew Taylor, Betty Lou Click, and Shirley Blankenship all of Maryville; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Masonic and Funeral Service will be at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in the Smith West Chapel with Rev. Mike Parker and Rev. Ronnie Silvey officiating. The interment will be at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, May 7, 2009 at Clarks Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: Shrine Hospital, Kerbela Temple, 315 Mimosa Ave. Knoxville, TN 37920-1628. Family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 6, 2009 in the West Chapel. Arrangements by Smith Funeral & Cremation Service, Maryville, 983-1000.
