Geneva Thompson

Geneva Blair Thompson of Friendsville went to be with her Father in Heaven following a long battle with lung cancer. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her father, Layman Blair and her husband, Bob Braden. She is survived by her loving husband, Frank Thompson; mother, Bertha Blair Jones; children, James "Bo" Braden and wife, Tracy, Robin R. Davis and husband, Dale of Louisville; step-children, Jeff Thompson and wife Joyce, Anita Thompson of Friendsville, Randy Thompson of Idaho and DeeDee Thompson of CA; sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Kenneth Tipton; twin sister, Janette Mitchell and special friend Ronnie Carpenter of Morristown; sister and brother-in-law, Brenda and Roger Dockins of Maryville; loving brother, Dean Blair and wife, Priscilla of Conyers, GA; step brother, Ted Jones and wife, Brenda of Maryville; very special grandchildren, Seth and Olivia Braden of Louisville, Jeffery, Johnny, Dakota, Dustin and Miranda Thompson all of Friendsville, R.J. and Halsy Thompson of NV, and David, Jason and Nicole of CA; nine special nieces and nephews; nine great grandchildren and special sisters-in-law, Inez Bryant and Erma Lee Gryder; several cousins of Friendsville and CA and special friend and cousins Joann Smith and Libby Tipton. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Guider and Rev. Ronnie Hepperly officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, 2009 at Cloyd's Creek Church Cemetery in Greenback for the Interment. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to UT Hospice Nurses, 2200 Sutherland avenue, Suite 102, Knoxville, TN 37919.
