Gary William "Gump" Graves age 61, born on May 8, 1953, departed this life on Friday, July 18, 2014 at his home. He graduated from Everett High School, Class of 1971. Gary was retired from Chaulbert Drilling, Inc. in Houma, LA. He was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by his parents, James William "Papaw" Graves and Margie Wheeler Graves; brother, Michael Ray Graves; grandparents, Ora and Myrtle Wheeler, and Charles and Lucy Graves; special uncle, Gordon Lee Wheeler, killed in action in Vietnam, March 1969; special cousin, Henry David Custen, killed in action in Vietnam, February 1969. Survivors include his brother, Charles "Pat" Graves and his sister and brother-in-law, Teresa "Sissy" and George Gilbert; niece, Susan Orr and husband, Brandon; nephew, Todd Gilbert and wife, Sarah; and many special cousins, family, and friends at Meadowood Apartments. The family would like to say a special heartfelt thank you to Johnny Martin and Glen Inman. Family and friends will assemble for graveside service and inurnment at 1:00 p.m.Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Grandview Cemetery with Rev. Keith Ross officiating.
