Gary James Cable

Gary James Cable, age 75 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2025 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Gary was retired as an electrician from ORNL X-10 after many years of service. He was a second generation automotive mechanic for many years formerly owning and operating Cable’s VW Repair and also working at Chilhowee Benz Repair. Gary loved the outdoors hunting and fishing most of his life. He was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by those who knew him. Preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Wilma Cable. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jason and Jada Cable; daughter and son-in-law, Jana and James Thacker; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Natalie Cable, and Kamryn and Nicholas Dagel; sisters and brother-in-law, Barbara Roulette and Judi and Mike Alfred, all of Maryville; Nieces, nephews, cousins and other family also survive. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 17, 2025 from 5:00 until 7:00 PM with a celebration of Gary’s life to follow at 7:00 PM.
