Fred H. Waters

Fred H. Waters age 92 of Greenback passed away Friday, February 26, 2010 at Asbury Nursing Center. He was a Deacon and member of Niles Ferry Baptist Church. He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving in WW II and was a former POW and a recipient of the Purple Heart. Fred was retired from ALCOA. Preceded in death by his wife of 69 years, Pauline Cooper Waters; parents, Jeff and Susie Waters; brother, Howard Waters; sisters, Dorothy Wilson and Aileene Myers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wiley and Della Cooper. Survivors include sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Wanda and Troy Henderson; sisters-in-law, Maxine Hester and Osceola Cooper; special friends, James and Nancy Devine, Inez Rollins and Brenda Teffeteller; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the Smith Trinity Chapel with Rev. Alvin Patton officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 11:00a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2010 at Grandview Cemetery for the interment.
