Frank Henry Marsh III

December 15, 1957 — September 16, 2015

Frank (Hank) Henry Marsh III died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 16, 2015. Hank was born December 15, 1957 and raised in Knoxville, Tennessee but later made Greenback his home. The outdoors was his favorite place to be. He loved gardening, hunting, fishing, and especially loved his Labrador Retrievers, Charlie and Beaut. Hank had such a big heart and took in stray dogs and cats and was always willing to help anyone in need. He was a hard worker, working as a cable and fiber optic contractor for 25 years, and a kind-hearted friend. He was greatly loved and we will always remember his hearty laugh, big hugs, his willingness to share anything he had, and his "never knew a stranger" personality. He was preceded in death by his older sister, Cathy Marsh, his grandparents, Frank and Margaret Marsh and John and Eloise Frisbie. Survivors include parents, Frank and Marty Marsh, siblings and their spouses Terry and Tom Shamblin, John and Jaynee Marsh, and Mollie Fager. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and their families; Jessica (Shamblin) and Kevin Winslett; Martha Cate (Shamblin) and Andy Spencer and their children, Charley, Avery, and Luke; Jacob and Aimee Shamblin and their children, Kayden and Liam; Catie Beth, David and Matthew Marsh; and Daniel and Ruthie Fager. "Family is like music, some high notes, some low notes, but always a beautiful song." There will be a private family service and interment at Westminster Presbyterian Church of Knoxville. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Hank's name to the American Diabetic Association and / or Westminster Presbyterian Church.
