Francis Duncan Gibson III

Attorney F. D. (Dee) Gibson, III age 75 passed away on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 22, 2018 at West Hills Health Care Facility. He has been in failing health since two strokes in 2016. Mr. Gibson practiced law in Maryville from 1976 until 2016. He attended the United States Naval Academy, and graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 1976. He was an avid golfer and a UT fan. F.D. was a member of Tellico Village Community Church, American Bar Association, and ran for County Commission in 1982. Mr. Gibson was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. F.D. Gibson, Jr. and Ruth Gibson and his sister, Deborah Evon Gibson of Memphis, TN. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Doris Anderson Gibson; cousins, Woody Gibson, Wayne Gibson (Mary) and Elaine Stafford; aunt, Janice Wright of North Carolina; nephews, Jason Anderson (Sherri), Kevin Anderson (Wendy) of Knoxville, Jim Anderson and Michael Anderson (Julianne) of Cleveland, OH; great nephew and niece, Michael and Justine Anderson of Cleveland, OH; great nephews, Kolby, Chase, and Camden Anderson of Knoxville; brother-in-law, John P. Anderson (Fonda); sister-in-law, Martha Fawbush (Edward).
