Floyd S. Purchase

Purchase, Floyd Stacey age 78 of Maryville, passed away, Thursday, July 26, 2007 at Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center. He was a member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church where he enjoyed singing in the choir and teaching the word of God to children. He had a passion for art and loved being able to share that gift with others. He was in the Army Reserves for 20 years. He was retired from New Jersey Transit Co. where he was the Director of Safety for 43 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. Floyd Purchase, Sr. and Mae Lucinda Purchase (nee Gilpin); sister, Lila Purchase. Survivors include his wife, Ruth Kennedy Purchase; daughter & son-in-law, Christine Purchase & Tim Weatherly of TN; daughter, Barbara Acuff of CA; grandchildren, Chelsea Acuff, Heather Acuff and Chase Weatherly; very special nieces and nephews and very special friend, Alton Sullivant. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon, Friday, July 27, 2007 at Smith Trinity Chapel. Funeral service will follow with Pastor Dale Ellenberg officiating. Family and friends will assemble at 1:30 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2007 at Dotson Memorial Church Cemetery for the interment.
